Protect Gilroy's voter-approved Urban Growth Boundary
We call this plan Gilroy Growing Smarter.

Land Use and Zoning: Potential/New Laws to Watch
Supporters can be watching for a controversial initiative, currently called the Our Neighborhood Voices initiative, that may be coming to the November 2022 ballot. It could affect land use, zoning, and, debatably, environmental laws. After a vote of 3 in favor, and 8 opposed, GGS will not take a position at this time. Read about pros and cons discussed at the November GGS meeting, with more discussion and the vote at the January GGS meeting.
Carolyn compiled a comprehensive list of previously passed state laws for GGS supporters to keep an eye on as well.
Like what GGS is doing? Consider a Seat on a City Commission!
Now is the time to strongly consider applying for one of the City Commissions, as we look to help the City consider any development in a more holistic way. Through membership on commissions you can help promote the values of revitalizing downtown and preserving our farmland and open space, and keeping Gilroy healthy and beautiful. Thank you for considering this important way to help both the City and Gilroy Growing Smarter.
